In 2014 Wilsons stardom exploded over the pond in a greater way after she was cast in Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman with a dark past who falls for an unmarried man called Noah Solloway. Wilson received a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also featured Maura Terney as well as Joshua Jackson. Wilson, speaking to British Vogue during the year 2015 stated that she was enjoying being able to play characters with two different perspective. Noah imagines Alison's sexy, confident, irresponsible sexy side. But Alison views herself in a completely different light. Inside, she feels dowdy. In addition, she said that she does not believe America is morally skewed. Wilson has left The Simpsons in the year 2018, wasn't forthcoming about the reasons. On a CBS This Morning Interview in August of 2018, Wilson stated, "I did want to leave, but I'm not able to talk about for it." Wilson began working in film in the last few years. Wilson was a part of the 2016 film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the house and played the cryptic PT Stella character in the 2017 sci-fi rom com How to Talk to Girls in Parties. In addition to adding more genre of horror to her film credits she is set to be a part of the British film version of The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller based on the book by writer Sarah Waters. Wilson is also the producer of the film.
